Japanese Type Washi Tape Base Paper
Japanese type washi tape base paper is a newest type of masking tape base paper. It has low density,high wet strength, good toughness characteristics. It is a substitutes of masking tape base paper, which have great market prospects.
Washi is commonly made using fibers from the bark of the gampi tree, the mitsumata shrub (Edgeworthia chrysantha), or the paper mulberry, but also can be made using bamboo, hemp, rice, and wheat. The word “washi” comes from wa ‘Japanese’ and shi ‘paper’, and the term is used to describe paper made by hand in the traditional manner.
Washi Paper masking tapes is little slightly transparent, especially for the lighter colors. They work well for layering effects and are great for papercraft, gift wrapping / packaging, SMASH Journals, casual scrapbooking, card making, art , and wedding/birthday decoration. They should be residue free. You can tear them by hand, since they are made of thin paper.
